Position Overview: Working under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager and Supervisor, Operations Manager or other supervisory or lead personnel, the Service Assistant assures the cleanliness and comfort of our patients and their environment. The Service Assistant provides a safe, clean and sanitary physical patient care environment. The Service Assistant is also trained to be able to respond to patient call lights and assists with hospitality services and basic, comfort measures (e.g. providing blankets, informing the nurse assigned to that patient of the patients specific needs and room temperature adjustment). Job Description : EDUCATION Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN: Cleaning in an Institutional or health care environment setting experience preferred. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to read and follow job specifications, direction and cleaning chemical label instructions. Principles of body mechanics. Excellent customer service skills required. Good interpersonal communication skills are required. Read, speak and write English required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Willingness and ability to learn tasks required through on-the-job training such as the operation of mechanized cleaning equipment. Demonstrated commitment to customer service, quality, and to the mission and values of Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa. Pay Range is $23.04 to $28.64 / hour The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
