Whether from a physical injury, stroke, cognitive differences, surgery or general aging, your work as an OT helps maximize their confidence in performing self-care, working and managing life responsibilities. Within the Child Rehab Department, you will assist younger patients, offering the opportunity to implement early interventions to enhance their independence later in life. Every day, your efforts can make a lasting and meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones.A caregiver in this position works days from 8:30AM - 5:00PM.The current position will float at least 1 day per week, which means that day could be at any of our locations. Locations include Middleburg Heights, Westlake Therapy, Fairview, Medina, Beachwood Administrative Campus (CCAC).In addition, each new hire is asked to work inpatient coverage up to 6 times in the first year.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.Assess patient ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills and design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities and document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel.Act a clinical instructor or participate in the education and evaluation of students.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Bachelor’s DegreeGraduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy AssociationCurrent Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)Basic Life Support (BLS), Healthcare Provider Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Experience in a clinical areaExperience working with children under the age of 7Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. Click the link and see how we’re dedicated to providing what matters most to you: Physical Requirements: Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeMinimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
