GEV Wind Power is seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Troubleshooter Technician with comprehensive experience across multiple wind turbine platforms. This role is critical in ensuring the reliable operation of wind turbine generators through advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and team leadership.As a Wind Turbine Troubleshooter, you will be responsible to identify common, reoccurring, and major component faults onany wind turbine generators:Travel to various wind farm sites across the U.S. and Canada for job assignmentsTroubleshoot problems on systems where duly trained/certified, including hydraulics, electrical and mechanical to ensure wind turbine andgenerator is operational and functioning properlyDevelop advanced troubleshooting knowledge and skills on site in collaboration with other competent individualsMay perform maintenance tasksLead small teams; accountable for the safety, competency and productivity of individuals assigned to themKeep records, maintains documentation and reports technical, safety issues and difficulties as required by company policy.Maintain and follows safety procedures as required by company policy.May assist or performcomponent replacement, retrofits, and other special assignmentsContinue to develop and expand wind maintenanceskillset through on-the-job training and train others in performing service workWork safely, competently and productively under the direction of othersMust meet the following requirements,have or obtain the listedrequired certifications and training (may be provided)including, but not limited to:At least 3 years of hands-on troubleshooting experience with Siemens Gamesa (G114, G126, G132, SG145), Vestas (3.X / 4.X), or other major wind turbine models.Citizen of oreligible to travel to and work in Canada for extended periods of time(valid passport required)Ability to work an 8 week on, 1 week off rotationPhysically able to safelyclimb wind turbines up to 90m+(300+ feet), stand, stoop, walk, crawl, crouch, stoop and generally meet the physical demands of the position.Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including by air and ground transportation, often on short notice, and to spend extended periods away from home at project sites.Ability to drive or travel up to 11 hours per day when required.Able to work safely in outdoor environments under both extreme heat and cold conditions.Good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform detailed inspections, read instructions, and safely operate equipment.Must have solid knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systemsMust have maintenance experience, including knowledge ofusing grease guns, filter changes, using ERAD system, doing torquing and tensioning and similar serviceValid and currentdriving license with a satisfactory driving recordMust be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicleMust be able toproficiently read, write andspeak EnglishSatisfactory criminal background checkThe following certifications are optional and considered a plus:GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aidGWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanicalOSHA 10 General IndustryApplicable Siemens Gamesa Technical eLearningCrane, Chain Hoist and Rigging Safety TrainingNFPA 70E Arc-Flash AwarenessPrefer training or experience with Touchscreen Controller Hand TerminalsWhat are the perks of working with GEV Wind Power?Health insurance, dental, vision, disability, life, 401(k) match12 days paid PTO and 11 paid holidaysUpskilling trusted GEV technicians via GEV AcademyBespoke reporting system (time saving with training provided)Streamlined communications for our technicians with regular Business and Project updates via GEV technician engagement platformWe listen to our technician needs and value their feedback (consistent technician feedback surveys)Ongoing work for our top talentA little bit about us:A Career Enabling You to Make a Global Impact!You will have heard about the term ‘energy transition’ and perhaps wondered what this means and even how you can get involved.
