*Job Title: Assembly 1st Shift** **Job Description** The role involves gathering blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and all related fixtures and tools necessary for assembling products. The assembler will move parts from storage racks to the assembly area, fasten parts together using various fasteners, and use blueprints and hand tools to assist in assembly operations. Additionally, they will assemble parts into repair kits and switches, inspect products prior to packaging, and ensure proper packaging for transportation. **Responsibilities** + Gather blueprints, routing sheets, setting specifications, and necessary tools for assembly. + Move parts from storage to assembly area. + Fasten parts together using bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners. + Use blueprints, routing sheets, and hand tools to assist in assembly operations. + Assemble parts into repair kits and switches, then package and move products to shipping department. + Inspect products prior to packaging, returning rejected items to production. + Observe packaging operations and inspect containers for specification conformance. + Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. + Record the number and type of products packaged. + Operate pallet jack to assist in loading or moving materials. + Pack parts properly to prevent damage during transportation. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical assembly and proficiency with hand tools. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routing sheets, and test specifications. + Strong mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. + Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English. + Effective communication skills with shipping clerks and assembly personnel. + Problem-solving skills to define issues, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. + Ability to maintain production rates and high-quality standards. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or GED, or nine to eighteen months related experience and/or training. + Basic understanding of ISO 9001 standards. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic team in a clean and well-lit production environment. Some work stations may be louder than others due to machinery in the area. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Mankato, MN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
