Position Summary: The Machinist position operates assigned resources of machining tools, whether manual or CNC, ensuring safety of operations, compliance with quality control standards with productivity targets. The Machinist position continually trouble-shoots and problem-solves production processes to ensure product meets or exceeds all manufacturing set-up and cycle times.Shift:Friday-Saturday, 4:30am-5pm, work 36 hours, get paid for 40Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Understand, adhere, and demonstrate the company’s commitment to safety and qualityMaintain regular and punctual attendance according to shift times or a pre-arranged work scheduleAble to run multiple types of machinesPerform setup and production for assigned machinesSet-up of first part on machine as assigned by Supervisor or ManagerSet-up and run the first part after completion of machine set-upVerify program is stable and part is within tolerance for runVerify all set-up documentation is correct and adequate for part runEnsure correct work orders, programs, and documents are being used for current operationHelp trouble-shoot basic production problemsDuring times when not assigned a set-up or performing production or as assigned by supervisor; spot check parts and deburr finished productMaintain a clean and organized work areaClean the machine at the end of each shift; organize all parts and tools for the job for the next shiftPerform other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Experience:Knowledge, skill, and ability to meet expectations for required competencies including: 1) safety, health, and environmental awareness, 2) business ethics and compliance, 3) technical/professional competence and quality/time management, 4 interpersonal relations and communication skills, 5) initiative, flexibility, innovation, and adaptability, 6) continuous improvement and problem solving, and 7) planning and organizingAbility to read precision measuring instrumentsAbility to read shop production blueprintsMechanical aptitude and strong attention to detailAbility to follow directions during production and follow all safety protocolsBasic understanding of machine set-upMachine shop experience and/or on the job trainingSelf-motivated with an ability to work alone or in a team environmentAbility to work across departments to meet product quality standards efficientlyAbility to follow instructions given by the operations manager, lead, or senior machinist and carry them out correctlyAbility to interpret instructions given and apply experience and training throughout the course of the day for each production job assignedAbility to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondenceAbility to read and interpret the English languageWillingness to learn and, as required, help and/or train othersPhysical Activities Required to Perform Responsibilities:Ability to: stand continually, walk regularly, sit continually, hear/listen carefully regularly, climb and/or balance infrequently, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl occasionally, twist occasionally at the trunk or neck, bend occasionally, reach with hands and arms regularly, taste and/ use sense of smell infrequently, use hands to manipulate, handle and/or feel in the act of performing the required responsibilities of the position. Must be able to: lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
