The incumbent will report to the Manager of Pharmacy Services (or similar role) and will be responsible for managing opportunities for professional development within the pharmacy department.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain protocols for prescribing, dispensing, and administering medicationsConduct research to develop or improve pharmaceutical treatmentsProvide specialized services to help patients manage conditions such as Diabetes, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Asthma, or HypertensionContribute to the efficient delivery of care by participating in quality improvement initiativesParticipate in the development or revision of pharmacy policies and procedures.Provide training and support to pharmacy staff and internsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of new drugs, medical devices, and therapies available in the marketEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to pharmaceuticalsConsult with physicians on matters pertaining to drug prescribing practicesParticipate in patient intervention and referral, risk management, and ethical decision-makingActively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to the overall patient care planCollaborate with healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient effectivenessEducate patients about medications, side effects, interactions, and therapeutic effectsEnsure medication safety and efficacy by reviewing patient profilesParticipate in patient care rounds and perform drug therapy consultations as requiredAdditional duties as assignedPosition Requirements/ Skills:A doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited institutionLicensure as a pharmacist in the state of practice3 years of experience in a pharmacy settingProven experience as a clinical pharmacistExcellent understanding of pharmaceutical therapy and direct patient careAbility to manage multiple priorities in an expedient and decisive mannerProficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for real-time collaborationPhysical Requirements:Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, and reachingAbility to sit for extended periods of timeRequires corrected vision and hearing to normal rangeAbility to operate a motor vehicle and have own means of transportationKey Attributes/ Skills:Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models the behaviors of core values and guiding principlesAn effective team player who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitmentsIs able to work within our Better Health environment by facing tasks and challenges with energy and passionPursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goalsDemonstrated ability to handle data with confidentialityAbility to work cross-functionally with multiple teams; ability to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with senior-level leadership, providers, and health plansStrong interpersonal and presentation skillsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsMust be results-oriented with a focus on quality execution and deliveryAppreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity toward target patient populations
