Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Brooklyn, New York. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing invoice processing, coding, and payment preparation to ensure smooth financial operations. This position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Responsibilities: u2022 Process and verify invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. u2022 Assign appropriate codes to invoices for tracking and reporting purposes. u2022 Prepare and execute check runs for timely vendor payments. u2022 Maintain and update accounts payable documentation and records. u2022 Resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper coding and approval workflows. u2022 Monitor payment schedules and address overdue accounts as needed. u2022 Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable. u2022 Perform regular audits of accounts payable data to maintain accuracy. u2022 Provide support for financial reporting and audits as required. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment preparation. u2022 Familiarity with check runs and invoice tracking systems. u2022 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. u2022 Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial documentation. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software and tools. u2022 Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards. u2022 Excellent communication skills for vendor and internal team interactions. u2022 Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
