Our client, a telecommunications firm, is seeking an OSP Engineer/Designer to join their team. As an OSP Engineer, you will be part of the Operations Engineering Team supporting FTTH installs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing fiber optic infrastructure projects through external vendor coordination, quality control oversight, and cross-functional collaboration. This role focuses on project management, vendor oversight, and process coordination including direct design work. Candidates for this role must be local to the Sacramento, CA area. No visa sponsorships will be supported. This is a very long-term contact assignment and status is REMOTE Job Title: OSP Engineer/Designer Location: Sacramento, CA Pay: $45-$50/hr. plus OT Key Responsibilities + Design and oversight of new subdivision projects and managing structure access related inquires within the market + Structure access includes incoming and outgoing requests for conduit or pole leasing through other CLEC/ILEC including but not limited to (AT&T, SMUD, Frontier, Astound, PG&E, Lumen, etc.) + Direct design work, experienced with design software such as AutoCad, CadTel, SpatialNet, OSP Insight, etc. + Use various computer systems and databases to support technical job functions. + Work proficiently as an individual and as a team member to complete tasks in a timely manner Requirements + Design and oversight of new subdivision projects and managing structure access related inquires within the market + Structure access includes incoming and outgoing requests for conduit or pole leasing through other CLEC/ILEC including but not limited to (AT&T, SMUD, Frontier, Astound, PG&E, Lumen, etc.) + OSP Infrastructure: Fiber and copper cable design (Subdivisions, MetroE, FTTH, splice/cross-connects, dB loss calculations). Construction methods (aerial, underground).
