Job Title: FPGA Design Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic team dedicated to building innovative products that enhance connectivity among loved ones. As an FPGA Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Prototyping Team, utilizing your problem-solving and prototyping skills to drive product development. You will collaborate with various teams within Hardware Engineering Research and Development and Industrial Design to tackle unique technical challenges. Your role will involve rapidly developing and iterating high-fidelity prototypes and development platforms to bring new ideas to life, showcasing design intent and enhancing user experience. Responsibilities + Partner with Design Engineering and Research teams to solve complex design and technological challenges. + Design, simulate, prototype, debug, and test embedded systems that integrate electronics, mechanics, optics, and software. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system engineering, architecture, product design, NPI, and research. + Manage multiple work streams and prioritize project workload to meet timeline constraints. + Develop RTL for FPGA targets/platforms to support rapid prototyping. + Assist with algorithm analysis, verification, and improvement. + Direct contingent/contract design and test resources. + Develop component and system-level performance specifications. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. + 8 years of end-to-end FPGA design experience, including RTL Simulation, Implementation, Hands-on bring-up, and debug. + Experience with commercial HDL simulators such as Modelsim/Questa. + Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog. + Experience with digital circuit design and various communications protocols, including I2C, UART, SPI, I2S, USB, MIPI, PCIe, etc. + Experience with board-level testing using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. + Strong collaboration and communication skills. + Demonstrated domain knowledge in compute systems development with a proven track record in advanced technology product development. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with verification environments/methodologies. + Experience with streaming video protocols such as MIPI and AXI-Stream. + Proficiency in scripting languages like TCL and Python. + Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. + Experience leading a multidisciplinary product engineering team. + Understanding of Meta products and technologies. + Experience with embedded devices, cameras, and optical systems. Work Environment The work environment is collaborative and fast-paced, requiring effective communication and teamwork across multiple disciplines. Team members are expected to be self-starters, well-organized, and capable of working with minimal guidance. The role involves using state-of-the-art tools and techniques to develop and iterate prototypes and requires a high level of attention to detail.
