TheProcess Engineerprovides technical expertise and support focused on improving the safety, reliability, and profitability on assigned process units in the refinery. The Process Engineer regularly works with operations, commercial planning, process control, maintenance, and other technical departments. What You’ll Do (When Positions Open): Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conform to organizational and/or regulatory standards. Analyze information and specify the methods and process steps, as well as the plant, machinery, and equipment, required to design and continuously improve manufacturing or materials processes and process systems to deliver the end product within specified cost and quality parameters. Support technical troubleshooting projects and process operations, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments. Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends, including yields and reliability metrics. Participating in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities such as MOC, PHA's and LOPAto support overall refinery goals around action item closure. Maintaining key process safety information including P&IDs, PFDs, Heat and Material Balances. Providing process and technical support for major turnarounds, maintenance projects, and unit shutdown / startups on shift schedule.
