Description :Under AHN Prehospital Care Services, Canonsburg Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency care to Washington County, PA. We are seeking candidates interested in rural, community based EMS.GENERAL OVERVIEWProvides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the pre-hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESDetermines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the pre-hospital setting. (50%)Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)Performs other duties as assigned or required.QUALIFICATIONSMinimumHigh school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceFor Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor statusMedical Command eligiblePA certification as Paramedic or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PA PHRNValid Driver's LicenseEMSVO within 30 days of hireACLS within 30 days of hireITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hirePALS within 30 days of hire CPR - American Heart AssociationAct 34 Criminal Background Clearance CertificateAct 33 Child Abuse Clearance CertificateAct 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance CertificatePreferredBasic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician.
