Relief Lead Operator u2013 District Energy Plant We are partnering with a client that manages and operates a highly advanced district energy plant serving a major medical center campus. This facility produces steam and chilled water that heat and cool most of the buildings on the campus, an environment where reliability directly supports patient care every day. This role carries real responsibility for maintaining uninterrupted steam and chilled water production. It is ideal for professionals with experience in complex power generation or energy systems such as boiler operations, turbine systems, or nuclear backgrounds who want to apply their technical expertise in a clean, high performing environment. The position follows a rotating 12 hour shift schedule, offering more days off, reduced commuting, and improved work life balance. Compensation and Benefits Hourly range: 42.00 to 50.00 Compensation is based on experience, skills, and business needs. Minimum Requirements u2022 NASOE High Pressure Steam Engineer First Class, OR ASOPE Power Plant Operating Engineer First Class license, OR City of Milwaukee First Class License or equivalent experience u2022 Substantial experience operating and repairing gas and oil fired boilers, steam turbines, electric drives, pumps, and related equipment u2022 Demonstrated ability to lead others and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing u2022 Physically able to climb around equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and work with standard tools u2022 Ability to work rotating shifts Essential Duties and Responsibilities On a relief basis and as directed by supervisory personnel, provide direction and instruction to on shift staff to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations in compliance with laws, procedures, and customer requirements Perform the duties of a Lead Engineer or Shift Engineer when assigned Operate chiller and boiler systems Coordinate with construction, maintenance, project, and distribution system teams regarding system evolutions and work activities Maintain oversight of water treatment activities Perform housekeeping tasks as assigned Perform lubrication tasks per the facilityu2019s Lubrication Program schedule Conduct maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, perform minor maintenance walkthroughs, and document any outstanding issues Execute assigned collateral duties related to plant operations such as procedure development, chemical management, and safety systems Perform other duties as assigned Physical Demands The physical requirements listed represent those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
