Middle School Instructional Coach - (24-25 School Year)

Des Moines Public Schoolsis seeking anInstructional Coach. Schools Available for 2024-2025: Harding Middle School Job Summary: Instructional Coaches support job-embedded professional development through collaborative and individual learning cycles, which provide a structure for gradually releasing teachers to learn new skills independently. Instructional Coaches engage in co-planning, modeling, and co-teaching lessons; as well as observing, providing feedback, and coaching classroom instruction. Instructional Coaches support implementation of district initiatives directed at strengthening core instruction through the common language of effective teaching practices. Successful candidates for this position will possess: Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate endorsement. At least three years of teaching experience. At leastone year of teaching experience with the Des Moines Public Schools. Highly Qualified Candidates for the position will possess: Master’s degree, preferably in effective teaching or adult learning/facilitation. Experience and knowledge of designing, presenting, and facilitating adult learning experiences Please see attached job descripton for further information on functions of the position along with educational and experience requirements. Position Details: Contract days vary by assignment 7.75 hours Salary schedule is attached. Please note the attached salary schedule is for the 2023-2024 school year; the salary schedule for the 2024-2025 school year is not yet available.
