The Product Formulation team is an innovative, fast-paced group of experts dedicated to developing and maturing next-generation technologies and products essential for Blue Origin's future missions. We thrive in a results-oriented, prototype-driven, and fail-fast environment.We are looking for an experienced Embedded Avionics Engineer who will be responsible for design, fabrication, testing and deployment of high-performance controller boards, motor drivers, and power distribution systems. This role also includes developing firmware for sensors, motors and control units. You will collaborate with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams and often work on multiple embedded hardware and software efforts simultaneously.Special Mentions:Relocation providedTravel expected up to 20% of the timeResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Own the full development lifecycle from conceptual design and schematic capture to board bring-up, qualification testing, and production deployment for high-performance controller boards, motor drivers, and power distribution systemsPerform hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification using lab equipment and support system testing and environmental testingCreate detailed and accurate electronic schematics using industry-standard tools such as Altium or Cadence.Utilize simulation tools to validate circuit performance across a range of operating conditions.Design complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit boards for harsh environmentsDevelop inverters, motor controllers, power filters, and gate driversGenerate schematics, BOMs, worst-case circuit analysis (WCCA), and design artifacts for regulatory complianceExperience with implementing high-performance motor control algorithms in resource constrained FPGAs and MCUsDevelop firmware for sensors, motors and control unitsDebug complex hardware/software interactions and resolve defectsCreate and maintain technical documentation for firmware and processesDevelop comprehensive test plans that cover all functional and non-functional requirementsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related discipline7+ years of electronic control design and electrical hardware design experienceExperience with firmware development for embedded applicationsExperience with eCAD softwareDeep understanding of microcontrollers, RTOS and embedded LinuxExperience with verification of firmware, hardware or control systemsExperience with aerospace vehicle Avionics systems development, integration, and testFamiliarity with power electronics hardware development, such as developing high voltage switching, high voltage and power regulationUnderstanding of most of the following parts and their usage: ADCs, op amps, power supplies (linear, LDO, DC/DC), FPGAs, MCUs, and MOSFETsKnowledge of com
