Title: 2026 Summer Emergency Management Internship/Co-Op Company: Tampa Electric Company State and City: Florida - Tampa Shift: 8 Hr. X 5 Days POSITION CONCEPT: The Co-Op Student is responsible for assisting the Emergency Management & Business Continuity team with preparedness and response activities for all types of threats and hazards. Specifically, this position will assist with updating plans, documents, and emergency assignments, develop training and exercise materials, and assist in preparing and delivery of internal team member preparedness information. This position may assist with research and business continuity assessments. POSITION SUMMARY/DETAILS: Tampa Electric Safety and Security Department wishing to provide an opportunity for college students or recent graduates the opportunity to explore career options within the field of Emergency Management. This includes allowing students to apply academic knowledge, skills, gain career skills, build resumes, and network with emergency management professionals. Physical Location of Co-op: TECO Midtown Education/Certification/GPA: u2981 The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university or college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline. u2981 A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. u2981 To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the universityu2019s co-op program is a must. Position Requirements: Currently pursuing a degree in: Emergency Management, Public Health, or Business. + Preferred/Related Discipline: Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a basic understanding of emergency management. The following FEMA Independent Study (IS) Courses are recommended:u2981 ICS 100u2981 ICS 200u2981 NIMS 700u2981 NIMS 800Year in School: Junior, Senior, or Graduate. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: u2981 Able to organize, develop, and write professional documents.u2981 Work on a team.u2981 Communicate effectively.u2981 Organized. Working Conditions: This position is mostly in an office environment with visits to company and stakeholder locations.
