Summary The Social Work Supervisor is responsible for the professional, clinical, and administrative oversight of Social Work staff across multiple locations, including the Main Campus, North Campus, East Campus, and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Responsibilities This Supervisory Social Work role encompasses the comprehensive management of social work services within Primary Care Clinics, Emergency Department, Mental Health Unit, Acute Care SCI/D and M2VA Programs, including program development, service coordination, and quality assurance. Major duties include but not limited to: Responsible for all aspects of the provision of Primary Care, Emergency Department, Mental Health Unit, Acute Care, SCI/D and M2VA Social Work services throughout VASNHCS. Perform supervisory duties for assigned staff to include but not limited to training, performance evaluations and personnel/HR actions. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for PACT, SCI/D, Emergency Department, Mental Health Unit, Acute Care and M2VA Social Work programs. Complete Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE) for Social Workers within established time frames, to include assigning and completing corresponding chart reviews. Develop policies and procedures for assigned programs necessary to manage overall program operation. Prepare reports and statistics required for facility, VISN, and national use. Provide coverage for other supervisors, clinicians, and services within the VASNHCS. Provide clinical supervision for dependently licensed social workers. Serving as a field instructor for social work graduate students. Provide direct patient care and is assigned a clinical caseload in their coverage area or as determined by the Social Work Service Chief and facility need.
