Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Summary: Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type and location of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment; performs internal material handling; works with public carriers when shipping or receiving materials; by performing the following duties:Essential duties and responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.Delivers issued material to production daily, using materialissue request sheets.Opens, verifies, repacks and labels incoming materials. Stages raw materials in designated QualityAssurance receiving-inspection area(s). as necessary.Assists in performance of weekly or other episodic cycle counts, reconciliation and correction of variances in cooperation with stockroom supervision.Accurately pick, pack, and prepare material for shipment using pick lists generated and must be able to maintain certified operator status to certify that orders are correct. Also, prepare issue requests.Transports customer orders form the production area to the dock for shipment.Completes packaging slips with required shipping information and presents to stockroom supervision with packed order(s).Provides warehouse support services; trucks and supplies material to and from production, office and otherareas; assists in physical inventories.Maintains clean, safe and organized warehouse; keeps dock and stockroom floor areas clear of materialsand debris.Exercises proper care in use of tools, equipment and materials.Detects and reports faulty equipment (e.g., scales and other measuring devices), defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock.Compares inventories to records or computes figures from records such as production issues, to obtain current inventory.Compiles information on receipt of disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance.Maintains appearance and integrity of stock through prescribed procedures.Reads and follows product specifications and/or drawings and related documents to perform tasks.Works extended or extra shifts, if customer requirements cannot otherwise be satisfied.Loads/unloads motor vehicles, including handling of regulated/hazardous materials.Communicate planned, ongoing or completed production activity to team supervision in a timely manner using appropriate process documents, travel cards, statistical process control charting or other advanced quality system data summaries which include all certified operator processes and ability to achieve and maintain a certified operator status.Performs general warehouse duties as determined by stockroom supervision.Observes all prescribed safety, environmental and/or transportation rules and regulations.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, including necessary packing documents. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization, particularly with facility production planners.Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, or other operator-quality data tools.Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Employees must hold valid state drivers license; and have ability to become licensed for plant lift-truck operation (LP and/or electrically Operated)Other Skills and Abilities: Employee must display ability to conform with facility and/or customer Quality-Assurance standards, possibly including necessary skills testing.Employee must display ability to conform to facility environmental-compliance procedures, including hazardous-materials transportation.Employee must display ability to operate automated data-processing equipment (Mainframe and/or Personal computing) as well as bar-code reading, counting and label-printing devices as necessary.Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
