Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDental Hygienist (Full-Time or Part-Time)Location: Dexter and/or School-Based Health Center in Newport, MEHometown Health Center (HHC) is growing! With a new, state-of-the-art facility currently under construction in Palmyra, were excited to expand our reach and continue providing exceptional care to Central Maine communities. Established in 2003, HHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) delivering more than 32,000 medical, dental and behavioral health visits annually to over 8,200 patients across Dexter, Newport and surrounding areas.About the RoleHometown Health Center (HHC) is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our growing dental team. This position is available as either full-time, preferred, or part-time and offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families across Central Maine.Our dental team serves patients at our Dexter location and through our School-Based Health Center in Newport. We are also excited to expand our reach with the launch of a Mobile Dental Unit in summer 2025, which will include a fully equipped dental operatory to serve children and families throughout Central Maine. This position may be based at either our Dexter site or the School-Based Health Center, with potential involvement in mobile unit outreach.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide preventative dental care, including cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments and patient educationConduct oral health assessments and assist in diagnosing dental conditionsCollaborate with dentists and other team members to develop and implement treatment plansMaintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and adhere to infection control protocolsEducate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventive careAssist with outreach initiatives through the school-based and mobile programs as neededQualificationsRequired:Successful completion of an accredited Dental Hygiene programCurrent State of Maine Dental Hygienist LicenseCPR certification (or willingness to obtain)Strong communication and patient care skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative care teamPreferred:At least one year of experience as a dental hygienistExperience working with children and diverse populationsFamiliarity with electronic dental records and digital charting
