IT Technician

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking an IT Technician to join our team! You will handle a variety of projects to support and improve our customers network systems.Responsibilities:Manage all aspects of the networking platformTroubleshoot network & system issues Monitor active network and server infrastructure Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment Administer network security measures to prevent system interruptions or breachesExecute sensitive data backup and restoration proceduresDocument all technical procedures and user guidesSet up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)Check computer hardware (HDD, keyboards, mouse,etc.) to ensure functionalityInstall and configure appropriate software and functions according to specificationsDevelop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performanceEnsure security and privacy of networks and computer systemsProvide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipmentOrganize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their workPerform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance scheduleIdentify computer or network equipment shortages and place ordersQualifications:Previous experience as a network or systems administratorKnowledge of TCP/IP and data protocolsAbility to prioritize and multitaskDeadline and detail-orientedStrong troubleshooting and critical thinking skillsExcellent diagnostic and problem solving skillsExcellent communication abilityOutstanding organizational and time-management skillsIn depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networksGood knowledge of internet security and data privacy principlesDegree in Computer Science, or relevant fieldCertification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
