Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIESProvide support to Maintenance Mechanic for all grove related machinery such as changing blades on tractors and any other maintenance on company driven equipment. Frequently use various kinds of hand and power tools including but not limited to air gun, impact range, and sockets.Regularly clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance. Maintain appropriate service and repair records. Research and communicate with stock room clerk/maintenance mechanic to request equipment parts and supplies.Respond to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. Help to identify failures and communicate observations to management. Perform any other duties as assigned. EQUIPMENTHardhat, leather gloves, welding gloves, neoprene gloves, chemical resistant gloves, safety glasses, welding hood, dust mask, face shield, non-slip safety shoes, welding equipment (ARC, MIG and TIG), torch cutter, bolt cutters, vice grips, clamps, work benches, circular saw, bandpass saw, jigsaw, hack saw, side grinder, grinder, impact wrench, benders, air tools, drill press, hand drill, crane, hoist, hand truck, electrical and Instrumentation tools and Meters and other equipment as needed.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS WORKING CONDITIONSWorking conditions will be outside in all types of weather, in open fields, in sunlight, during the hottest parts of the day.Must be able to do work in the heat wearing proper P.P.E (Personal Protective Equipment) during pesticide and herbicide applications. If necessary, could be expected to work in wet, muddy, rainy conditions. Walking and climbing may be required.Workers may be required to perform labor-intensive work involving prolonged standing or lifting. Must be able to work outdoors and indoors in various temperatures. Ability to lift necessary weight (50lbs-75 lbs on occasion). Ability to perform physical tasks relating to grounds maintenance.Able to stand, stoop, bend, climb, crawl and kneel for extended periods in uncomfortable positions. Workers will work in hot, cold and sometimes wet conditionsESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESDisassemble/ Reassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs as needed. Consistently examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Observe and test the operation of newly repaired machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions and/or verify the adequacy of repairs. Study manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery. (Welding Preferred but not required) Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems including electric motors, electric controls, radio systems, etc.Monitor work done by outside contractors for adherence to Company policies and report to supervisor depending on relevance/scope of the project.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSParticipate in Cutrale sponsored training to improve job skills. Participate in quality improvement processes. Assist in the areas of safety, health, quality, environmental, honesty, dependability and productivity.
