Job DescriptionJob DescriptionYouth and Family Pastor - Birmingham Community ChurchPosition Overview:Birmingham Community Church (BCC) is a newly established, non-demoninational church situated in a rural farming community in Iowa. BCC is a small group of believers seeking a Youth and Family Pastor who embodies the spirit of a missionary, possesses an unwavering love for God and others, and is passionate about spreading the gospel message. As the sole church in the area, BCC presents a unique opportunity to effectively spread the gospel and provide support to individuals seeking to experience the profound love of Christ.The vision is centered around the gospel, serving as a beacon of Christ to the community. The primary objective of the Youth and Family Pastor is to collaborate with the church to realize this vision, particularly among young people and families. BCC envisions that this position is structured to facilitate a succession plan pathway to Lead Pastor through education and mentorship. Key Areas of ResponsibilityDevelop a missionary focused strategy to attract, evangelize and disciple youth and families within the community.Help young people and families deepen their relationship with God and grow in the faith.Foster loving, Christ-centered relationships within families.Encourage and equip parents to lead in the families as the primary faith trainers within the homes, developing spiritual, moral and ethical foundations.Key DutiesPlan and lead youth and family programs.Develop and organize activities, retreats and mission trips.Primary teacher and mentor of Middle School and High School aged Youth.Oversee all youth programs (Pre-K through 12th Grade). Recruiting and training youth leaders as the ministry develops. Provide direction in curriculum and programming.Assist in pastoral responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Lead Pastor. To include:Preaching or other teaching opportunitiesVisitation - home and hospitalAssisting with weddings and funeralsDevelop the skills and experience necessary to grow into the role of a Lead Pastor.Other tasks as assigned by the Lead Pastor and/or Elders.Qualifications and RequirementsPreferably a bachelor's degree in a Bible College, but commensurate internship/mentoring track and real-life experience also acceptable.Agreement with Statement of Faith and Vision of BCCA vibrant personal relationship with Jesus ChristA missionary's passion for reaching the community with the gospelA strong desire for nurturing the faith of families and youth Exhibit the Biblical qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7BenefitsFull-time position$50,000 - Annual Salary$500 monthly contribution towards medical insuranceContact informationInterested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to Lead Pastor, Phil Ross.
