PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To Provide an efficient, exceptional dining experience with first-class customer serviceESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:Removes soiled dishes from previous shifts that were leftoverPrepares/provides ice water according to established procedureRefills salt, pepper, and sugar shakers when necessaryPrepares milk pitchers and cold juicesHelps serve mealsFills drink glasses for meal serviceCleans off counters, picks up dishes and utensils, and cleans table topsReturns soiled dishes and utensils to kitchen and loads dishwashing machinePicks up paper and trash from floorChecks supply of coffee cups at service window and replenishes when neededChecks windows, ledges, sills, refrigerator, milk cooler, ice machine, coffee urn and tables for cleanlinessFollows cleaning schedule by checking each day for job assignment in routine cleaningMaintains a pleasant attitude towards residents, staff, visitors and co-workersWilling to develop self toward better performance and changing work habits as position demandsRespects resident's rights and complies with Adult Abuse PolicyComplies with laws regulating Protected Health InformationOther duties as assigned by Dietary Manager/Head Cook/AdministratorEDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:Candidate must be at least sixteen (16) years of ageHave a high school diploma, or equivalent, or be in schoolAble to read, write, understand, and communicate in English, at a minimum of 8th grade proficiencyPossesses clear verbal and written communication skillsLegacy at Herington is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
