Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionAs a Forklift Operator, you will report to your work area fit for duty and attend the Forklift Operators Course before operating any Forklift on the property. You will adhere to Manufacturing Practices, Preventive Controls Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules, and coordinate with the Loading Dock Supervisor to ensure all product traceability. You will also assist the Shipping Manager with maintenance tasks and ensure product safety and documentation.ResponsibilitiesAttend and complete the Forklift Operators Course prior to operating any Forklift.Follow all Manufacturing Practices, Preventive Controls Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.Coordinate with the Loading Dock Supervisor to ensure product traceability.Assist in documenting transfers from the Shelling Plant.Assist the Shipping Manager with maintenance tasks.Ensure product safety from cross-contamination prior to loading or unloading.Follow Personal Protective Equipment guidelines.Maintain Forklifts in clean and sanitary condition as per the Master Sanitation Schedule.Fill out Forklift Daily Logs to ensure equipment is in good running order.Maintain Cold Storage areas according to the Safe Food Plan and Preventive Control Rules.Maintain wall clearances of 18 to avoid pest and infestations.Assist in efficient and cost-effective shipping of finished products.Follow specific customer shipping instructions.Load trailers in accordance with legal weight requirements.Report, document, and correct discrepancies to customer or regulatory guidelines.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shipping Manager and Peanut Shelling.Operate forklifts, man-lifts, and scissor-lifts in accordance with safety policies.Attend a refresher Forklift Operator Course every two years.Perform additional duties as required.Essential SkillsForklift operation experience preferred.Experience in shipping and receiving.Ability to load and unload trucks.Reporting to the Shift Supervisor and maneuvering bags of product for shipments.Lift Truck Operator I: 0-5 years of operator experience.Lift Truck Operator II: 5-9 years of operator experience.Lift Truck Operator III: 10+ years of operator experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required.Understanding of production and plant processes.Ability to follow written and oral instructions.Ability to work effectively in a team and adaptable to working shifts, including weekends and overtime.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is non-climate controlled, requiring adaptability to varying temperatures and conditions.Why Work Here?Join a company that values teamwork and offers growth opportunities through structured training courses.
