Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Controller to join our team in Brattleboro, Vermont. This role involves overseeing a wide range of financial and operational functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning, and personnel administration. As a key leader reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will manage a team to ensure organizational goals are met while maintaining compliance and financial integrity.Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of accounting, including recording, classifying, and reporting financial transactions. Oversee financial planning, resource allocation, and business planning to support organizational initiatives. Evaluate, issue, and manage loans while ensuring compliance with underwriting standards and minimizing risks. Develop and oversee annual and multi-year budgets, ensuring alignment with program and organizational objectives. Provide financial oversight for specific programs and projects as defined by the Executive Director. Handle grant and fund reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with donor requirements. Prepare consolidated financial statements for multiple subsidiaries and work closely with auditors during annual audits. Administer payroll and human resources functions, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to regulations. Monitor cash flow management and ensure financial stability across all business units. Utilize tools like QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate financial records and reports. A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting roles. Proficiency in financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements for subsidiaries. Strong expertise in using Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online. Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow and oversee budgeting and forecasting processes. Experience with grant management and compliance reporting. Familiarity with audit procedures and working collaboratively with auditors. Solid understanding of financial operations within real estate, grants, and loan funds. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple priorities.
