Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDepartment: ServiceReports to: Service ManagerType of Employment: Full or Part TimeWage Type: HourlyLocation: Centerville, IowaAt Sinclair Tractor, we pride ourselves on being the destination in Southeast Iowa for agricultural equipment, precision farming, agronomic decision support, NAPA parts and supplies. With thirteen John Deere dealerships, five NAPA parts locations and a Supply Store, we are looking for motivated and talented people to join our teamPurpose:Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. Responsibilities include but not limited to:Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technologyMentors Service Technician Trainees and Service TechniciansConducts or supports customer clinicsPerforms diagnostics and repairs in the field as requiredAccountable for billable time and assigned work ordersResponsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of informationMay participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeOperates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilitiesMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsMaintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:High School Diploma or equivalent experience requiredAssociates degree in John Deere Ag Tech or related 2 year degree and/or 2 years of relevant experience preferredExcellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesProven knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in the repair of outdoor power equipment/agricultural equipmentOutstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to work varying shifts, extended hours, and holidaysMust have basic knowledge of equipment safety proceduresWorking Conditions & Requirements:Must be able to stand for extended periods of timeWorkshop settingRepetitive bending and/or kneelingMust be able to lift 75-poundsTravel as neededBenefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife InsuranceShort- & Long-Term DisabilityPaid Time Off (PTO)401K Company MatchAnnual Tool AllowanceEnvironment-Controlled Shops (A/C and heated)Company-paid Uniforms This is not an all-inclusive list of job-related responsibilities, skills, or working conditions.
