Job DescriptionJob DescriptionFaulk County Highway Department in Faulkton, SD is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Highway Maintenance worker. If you have a strong work ethic, a passion for maintaining infrastructure, and a commitment to serving your community, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities:As a Highway Maintenance worker, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the safety and functionality of our roadways. Your duties will include:Repairing potholes, patching and other pavement defectsClearing debris and snow from roadwaysMaintaining bridges, culverts and signsOperating heavy machinery such as motorgraders, loaders, snowplows and ect.Blading, hauling, mowing and sweeping roadwaysPerforming routine maintenance on equipmentAssisting with road construction projectsResponding to emergency situations as neededQualifications:We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentPrior experience in highway maintenance or a related field preferredAbility to operate heavy machinery safely and efficientlyExcellent problem-solving skillsStrong communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to work in all weather conditionsValid driver's license with a clean driving record and possess a CDLAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningPhysical Qualifications:Must be able to lift 25-50lbs and occasionally up to 50lbsMust be able to perform physical tasks such as repetitive bending, carrying, kneeling and walking up to but not limited to 1320 feet.Must be able to complete repetitive motion, reaching in any direction, including grasping and applying pressure.Why Work for Us:At Faulk County, we value our employees and strive to create a supportive and inclusive work environment.
