Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGeneral Description / ObjectiveThe Mill Operator ensure the accurate mixing and delivery of feed and related products to help improve feeding efficiency for the proper care for cattle and the feedyard facilities. They are directly responsible for their individual safety by adhering to feedyard safety policies and procedures.The Mill Operator adds value and quality services to the Mill Department by ensuring safe, and quality feed delivery processes in a timely manner. Successful candidates are highly participative, team orientated and have high levels of communication.Roles and TasksOperate controls and scales to produce a consistent, top-quality ration per the Nutritionist guidelines.Maintain necessary records to ensure proper physical inventory into the rationSchedule ration flow with feeders to provide maximum efficiency and minimum carryover of finished rationKnow location of all mill machineryPerform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean working environment to ensure a safe working environmentContinual observation and adherence of safety policies and proceduresMaintains inventory at desired levelsFulfills all reporting and record keeping requirementsMill Operators are subject to Feed Truck cross training as location requirements fluctuatePerform preventive maintenance of mill machinery.
