Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGryphon is seeking a full-time DDC-HVAC Technician to provide professional and technical support to the U.S. Army Reserves 88th Readiness Division (RD), Directorate of Public Works (DPW), at Fort McCoy, WI. The 88th RD manages 270+ sites comprised of 800+ buildings across 19 states.Essential Functions Monitor, operate and maintain building automation systems and equipment controls. Provide technical support for the scoping, design, review, award and construction of major corporate projects defined as capital improvement projects > $25,000. This includes visiting facilities to determine the scope of a project, writing PWSs, providing associated cost estimates, coordinating with contracting offices for pre-award services, managing post-award requirements such as visiting construction sites, noting and documenting deficiencies, and discussing and recommending solutions. Document and report alarms and observed abnormalities. Facilitate corrective actions with the cooperation and support of other management and maintenance staff. Assist 88th RD with preparation of repair tickets, initiation of work orders, and tracking of work from cradle to grave. Participate as a member of the Energy Management Team to support Net Zero and Sustainability issues and initiatives. Assist the 88th RD with validation of complex maintenance and repair work and with verification of completion. Document commissioning activities to verify all equipment and controls work properly. Provide technical support and design expertise in the area of BAS and controls to 88th RD DPW office. Assist the RD with reviewing construction plans developed by other design agencies for proper and correct application of building automation and controls. Assist the 88th RD to maintain the remote, cloud or locally based hardware, software and programming required for remote facility control system connectivity. Update BAS systems with the latest versions of software and licensing. Ensure that all systems are backed up on a monthly basis. Provide for total building automation system and control systems back up. Manage security of the hardware and software of BASs to protect them from destruction, inappropriate use and vandalism. Establish and maintain building automation control standards to establish consistency of control. Provide technical support to the 88th RD and interface with BAS and equipment Contractors to resolve start up and installation issues. Assist the 88th RD with specific applications of BAS for most or all HVAC equipment in general. Provide expertise to develop network connectivity between DPW headquarters and individual Reserve Centers. Interface with the 88th RD Information Management Office and the USARC G-6 to resolve software, hardware and network issues. Assist with development and administering building systems commissioning actions. Provide training of 88th RD Government and Contractor personnel on how to maintain the existing building automation systems. Adjust equipment for maintaining desired environmental settings, including temperature and humidity; start, operate, and stop air handling equipment chillers, boilers and rooftop units; and detect and diagnose malfunctions in equipment. Provide assistance to Facility Coordinators for facility management technical support. Assist with maintaining compliance with UFC 3-410-01. Maintain a database of HVAC technical support and specific work accomplished.Qualifications BS Degree/Technical Degree. 5+ years of progressive experience in DDC-HVAC related field. Self-starters who are able to multi-task. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interface and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Confidence, willingness, and ability to conduct presentations and provide training sessions to groups of people. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint, and willing and able to learn new software systems specific to the USAR. Niagara N4 Certification desired. Experience working with the federal government or military are a plus. Additional Eligibility Requirements: Must have a valid U.S. drivers license.Must be able to pass a Department of Army background investigation.Must pass drug screening.Must have access to a reliable automobile.Must be willing to travel.
