We are currently on the lookout for a skilled and proactive Athletic Field Construction Specialist to join our team.JOB TITLE: Athletic Field Construction SpecialistLOCATION: Based in the Topeka area, with required travel across the regionPAY STRUCTURE: Base salary will depend on experience, disbursed bi-weekly; mileage compensation is available for travel using a personal vehicle.BENEFITS: Company-provided vehicle, paid vacation, work uniforms, quarterly rewards based on performance, and an annual profit-sharing plan dependent on company performance.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:In this role, the candidate will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:- Safely operating and handling a variety of equipment, including: o Tractor o Attachments such as tillers, rollers, seeders o Laser grading devices o Heavy-duty trucks o Trailers (when loaded and unloaded) o Miscellaneous tools and machinery- Working collaboratively with teammates, subcontractors, and customers;- Creating and adhering to layout designs based on specific construction requirements;- Demonstrating flexibility to work longer hours and weekends as required;- Representing the company in a professional manner at all times;- Complying with instructions from supervisors;- Engaging in manual labor and occasionally lifting objects exceeding 50 pounds;- Upholding a clean and safe work environment on job sites and company premises;- Completing all assigned projects effectively to ensure maximum customer satisfaction;- Communicating respectfully and effectively with all clients; and- Performing additional duties as necessary.Desired Skills and Competencies:Candidates for this position should showcase strong communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and problem-solving abilities. A self-starter who is committed to delivering high-quality results without needing extensive supervision is essential. A basic understanding of equipment operation is needed, while extensive experience is greatly preferred. Formal education or experience in turfgrass management will be an advantage.The selected applicant must successfully pass a drug screening and a background check before employment.Licenses and Certifications Required:A valid driver's license is essential, along with a safe driving record, as this role involves significant driving and operating equipment safely. Compliance with DOT regulations is a must.Working Conditions:Expected to work flexible hours, predominantly from Monday to Friday, with travel throughout the region. Overnight trips may sometimes be necessary.
