Your Role as a School Nurse Provide first aid and manage medical emergencies, including communication with families, EMS, and physicians. Maintain up-to-date medical records, physicals, and immunizations for all students. Communicate with families, physicians, and healthcare teams; develop and implement Individualized Health Plans. Manage and administer medications, ensure proper storage, maintain documentation, and train staff on emergency meds (e.g., EpiPens, inhalers). Track and report medication administration and errors; ensure all physician orders are on file. Implement and monitor infection control protocols, including illness tracking, parent notification, and communication with the health department. Follow safety procedures, including use of PPE and safe crisis management techniques. Required Qualifications: Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
