You will advise stakeholders on a range of legal matters, including privacy, data protection, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and contract requirements and best practices in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Reporting to the VP and Senior Assistant General Counsel, the successful candidate will provide legal support to and collaborate with key partners across LQTC and Leidos, including Human Resources, Information Technology, Contracts and Procurement, and Ethics & Compliance. Primary Responsibilities:Draft, negotiate, and interpret contracts with customers, partners, and vendors, including data protection and data usage agreements, Business Associate Agreements, master service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, teaming agreements, subcontract agreements, and software license agreements.Handle privacy and data protection-related inquiries from a wide range of stakeholders across LQTC and provide actionable advice and legal counsel on privacy questions.Review, draft, and update policies, procedures, and notices, including relating to the handling of personal information.Collaborate with the incident response teams to manage security incidents, including investigation, reporting, and remediation in accordance with Leidos policy and regulatory requirements.Support litigation, pre-litigation disputes, and internal investigations.Develop guidelines, training, and tools to support regulatory and contractual compliance across LQTC.Monitor relevant legislative developments, regulatory guidance, and enforcement actions in the jurisdictions in which LQTC operates.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Required QualificationsCompetencies:Juris Doctor from a U.S. accredited law schoolCurrent member in good standing of the bar in at least one state in the United StatesMinimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in an in-house, top-tier law firm, andor federal government settingKnowledge of and familiarity with global privacy and data protection laws, regulations and standards, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the California Privacy Rights Act, the U.S. Privacy Act, and state breach notification lawsExperience advising clients on compliance with HIPAA, other health privacy laws, and related legal frameworksDemonstrated transactional experience, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, including privacy and data protection contract terms and agreements, such as Business Associate Agreements and data protection agreementsExperience with litigation and dispute resolution, including at the pre-litigation phaseExperience in the health care industry and advising health care clients is a plusDemonstrated experience with data breach management and mitigationSuperior written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsAgility and willingness to work on a broad range of mattersSelf-motivated and ability to work independently without extensive supervisionAbility to translate legal requirements into practical guidance for non-lawyersInterpersonal and collaborative mindsetMust be able to successfully pass National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) background investigationAbout Leidos QTC Health ServicesLeidos QTC Health Services collaborates closely with government and non-government customers to address current and future program needs within the health services domain.
