Import Transportation Coordinator

The Import Transportation Coordinator will assist in carrier selection while focused on cost control and continuous improvement within the department. This person will also participate in a cross-functional team consisting of, but not limited to, purchasing, customer service, finance, and trade compliance.This position is a full-time onsite position Monday - Friday. This is not a remote role. Responsibilities:Assist in daily communication with carriers including articulating booking instructions as requiredMaintain updated transportation costs in the AS400 and Routing GuideAssist in investigating, negotiating, and processing claims related to transportationAssist in day-to-day transportation issues that arise and work with the customer to resolve issuesAssist in working with the drayage companies and branches to help drive down transportation costsCollaboratively work with accounts payable to audit freight payments and carrier billing accuracyMaintain AS400 distribution and logistics modules including but not limited to, daily shipment processingRequirements:High School diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree is preferredImport andor International Business experience or education highly preferredMinimum 2 years Customer Service experience in a call center environment andor LogisticsSupply Chain ManagementMust possess excellent communication skills with proficient PC skills to include Microsoft termediate to advanced Excel skillsMust be detail oriented, a self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervisionDiplomatic problem solver with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAS400 experience is highly preferredBunzl North America is a global leader in the Cleaning & Hygiene, Food Processing, Grocery, Health Care, Non?Food Retail, and Safety industries.
