Growing together. Optum Podiatry, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: This position follows a 37.5-hour work week. The standard schedule is as follows:Monday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.The final work schedule will be determined by the hiring manager upon hire.Location:  575 Underhill Blvd, Suite 130 Syosset, NY 117912403 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY 11040 ( Wednesday and Saturdays) Primary Responsibilities:Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smileAssists patients with signing in and completing registrationEnters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into EpicVerifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefitsCollects co-payments and patient balances according to OPTUM payment guidelinesAbility to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions ie referrals, scheduling appointmentsConfirms and schedule appointmentsCheck In and Check Out patientsAnswers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messagesBring patients into the treatment roomAbility to be cross trained for medical assistantAssists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testingAll employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements  Ability to travel to other locations as neededAssists with other tasks as assigned What are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?  Put it all together - competitive base pay, a full and comprehensive benefit program, performance rewards, and a management team who demonstrates their commitment to your success.
