This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, results-driven environment and play a key role in the company's continued growth.Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial reporting, month-end close, and audit processes.Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial insights.Maintain high standards of financial integrity and compliance.A Day in the Life of an Assistant Controller:Accounting:Run a timely, accurate and efficient monthly accounting close process including review of journal entries and operating results required to ensure the accuracy of monthly financial records.Responsible for annual financial statement audit, including preparation of all supporting documentation and interaction with external auditorsIdentify and lead initiatives to enhance processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department's financial close and reporting cyclesEnhance the accounting department's use of relevant software and the integration of software into accounting processes and proceduresEnsure successful calculation and completion of the company's tax filings, working with external tax consultantsEnsure that company financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP/CECL policies for external auditFP&A:Assist in the annual operating budget process, track and report on performance relative to plan, and manage ongoing rolling forecastsOversee the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial management reporting packages including variance analysis.Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statements, forecasts, etc.) and present to the executive teamEstablish and monitor KPI's relevant to a lending businessAssist in the reparation of materials for Board of Director meetingsProvide recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performanceCollaborate with VP on unit economics analysis and monitoring of cost efficienciesTrack and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecastsDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsPress Apply if you have: BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other business-related fieldsCPA Required6-8 years across financial domain including relevant management experienceLending business experience is mandatoryDemonstrated leadership experience, managing and training small teams is a plusProficiency in GAAP, accounting and revenue recognition is a plusStrong analytical, financial modeling and reporting skillsStellar analytical aptitude and an intellectual curiosity to uncover patterns and trendsExperience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and month-end/year-end close processProficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial and accounting softwareOutstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skillsWhat they offer!Attractive company subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision plans with leading insurance providers401k Plan with Company MatchGym Reimbursement for Employees on Medical PlansLife Insurance at No Cost to EmployeesGenerous Time Off PlanFlexible Spending and Commuter BenefitsEqual-opportunity employer
