Safety Manager - Florida

Haugland Group has an immediate need for an experienced safety professional with knowledge of electrical utility construction practices to join our team. This position will be based out of our office in the Tampa, Florida area.We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, highly organized individual to join the Environmental Health and Safety team to provide safety support to our construction project management teams and ensure compliance with all regulations.At Haugland, we understand that pushing the boundaries of what has been done is essential to develop the infrastructure of tomorrow. We are leaders in building what's next because we see the path to get there and we're setting a new standard of exceptional along the way.Let's build together!Key FunctionsProvide safety support to the project teamsConduct frequent safety inspections/audits of multiple job sitesComplete weekly safety meetings (toolbox talks) with employees and subcontractorsAssist in the development of site-specific Health and Safety Plans, Safe Work Plans, Job Hazard Analyses and TailboardsInvestigate all near misses, injuries, accidents and property damageEnsure safety compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulationsInteract with project managers, supervisors and workers to identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practicesIdentify loss producing conditions and practices, recommending appropriate corrective actionObserve tasks as they are being completed to provide support and ensure safe practicesDesired QualificationsMust be able to travel. Over 50% of travel is required for this role5+ years of experience with electrical utility construction (underground and overhead transmission, telecom, etc.) safety and work practicesBachelor's degree in safety, Construction Management of a related fieldKnowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulationsExperience in human performance and error reductionOSHA 10 T&D, OSHA 30, OSHA 50Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and standard computer applicationsDisplay a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
