Title: Medical Biller (Medical and Vision)Direct Hire OpportunityNo SponsorshipOnsitePosition OverviewOur optometry practice is seeking a full-time Medical Biller to manage all aspects of insurance billing and collections. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with optometry billing, specifically both vision insurance and medical insurance, and will be able to handle claims, appeals, and reimbursements independently with little to no training.Key ResponsibilitiesAccurately prepare, submit, and track insurance claims (vision and medical).Review EOBs (Explanation of Benefits), scan and attach documentation, and ensure payments are applied correctly.Handle appeals, denials, and resubmissions in a timely and accurate manner.Post payments and reconcile accounts daily.Manage patient statements, balances, and collections.Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and private insurance requirements.Generate billing and aging reports as needed.Work closely with office staff to ensure accurate patient billing information.Qualifications2+ years of billing experience in optometry, ophthalmology, or medical office.Strong understanding of the difference between vision insurance and medical insurance billing.Proven ability to manage appeals and complex claim issues.Proficiency with OfficeMate and ECRVault (preferred).Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work independently without extensive training.Full-time in-office presence preferred; remote candidates may be considered with strong experience.Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
