Job Description

Overall Purpose: The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a CNC machine while adhering to quality and safety standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Set up and program CNC machinesMake tooling and fixtures as requiredPerform file maintenancePerform First Article Inspection, including molds and segment inspection as requiredEnter SPC jobs into the computerCollect SPC data on the computerPrint and close out jobsSend and retrieve programs from the main computerComplete daily paperworkPerform set-up with tools providedPerform complete inspection of partsProperly complete dimensional inspection reportsProperly operate CNC machine to ensure productivity standards are metRead blue printsProperly document labor report, job travelers and other daily reports in a timely mannerCrosstrain in other areas as neededClean work areasFollow both verbal and written instructionsAdhere to 5S StandardsAdhere to all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, policies for attendance and punctuality and standards for safetyOther Duties: Other duties based on the needs of the Machine ShopThe preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments and to make reasonable accommodations as needed.Qualification Requirements: High School education or equivalentMust possess basic computer skillsMinimum 5 years of CNC experienceMust be capable of programming using Mastercam Mill or Okuma LatheMust be familiar with Okuma lathes or HAAS 5 axis milling machines and Daewoo/Fanuc ControlMust be capable of performing duties and responsibilities with minimum supervisionAble to read and understand blue printsKnowledge of basic measuring tools, calipers, micrometers, comparators and math requiredFluent in English (able to read, speak, write and understand)Must be a US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)Physical Demands:While performing duties of the job, the employee is required to:o Regularly stand, walk, and reach with both hands and armso Perform repetitive motionso Regularly lift 10+ poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusWork Environment: Machine Shop environment with moderate to high noise levelMust be US Persons based on ITAR definition (US Citizen or Permanent Resident). This position is expected to be exposed to information which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
