Job SummaryThe HR Payroll Associate performs payroll, administrative, and HR support functions with an emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance. This role requires independent judgment and discretion while providing essential support to the payroll and HR team. The position is key in maintaining accurate personnel records, managing payroll processes, and assisting with employee relations in a highly professional and service-oriented manner.Primary ResponsibilitiesPayrollProcess bi-weekly and monthly payroll through ADP.Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, garnishments, and paid time off.Maintain payroll databases and update employee pay changes.Generate, audit, and distribute payroll and accrual reports.Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.Draft payroll policy updates and employee communications.Support audits and compensation surveys.Train staff on timecard and pay code procedures.HR & AdministrationProcess employee terminations and related documentation.Maintain procedure documentation and cross-train colleagues.Interpret union contract and personnel policies to assist managers and staff.Ensure payroll and HR forms are readily available to employees.Employee Relations & ComplianceProvide timely and accurate responses to employee inquiries.Stay up to date on wage and hour laws and HR compliance requirements.Support the HR team with projects, audits, and administrative tasks.Serve as a backup for other HR team members as needed.Job RequirementsProven experience in payroll or accounting with payroll duties.Hands-on experience with payroll software (ADP preferred).Strong math skills; proficiency with 10-key and Microsoft Excel.Knowledge of HRIS database systems.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Bachelor's degree preferred; HR certification a plus.Minimum 1-2 years direct payroll processing experience required.Knowledge of wage/hour laws and prior employee relations experience preferred.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Physical RequirementsPrimarily a sedentary office role with standard office equipment.Requires manual dexterity for computer and data entry tasks.Must be able to lift/move up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. occasionally.Position involves standing, walking, bending, and other office-related activities.Ability to communicate in person, over the phone, and via written correspondence.Benefits:Health insurancePaid time offDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceRetirement planReferral programFlexible spending accountEmployee assistance programSupervision hours programDesired Skills and ExperiencePayroll Processing (ADP)Human Resources (HR)Employee RelationsBenefits AdministrationHRIS (Human Resources Information Systems)Labor Law ComplianceTime & Attendance ManagementMicrosoft Excel (Formulas & Reporting)Compensation & Wage AnalysisConfidentiality & DiscretionAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
