Superintendent

We're seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead on-site execution for large-scale, ground-up projects in NYC. This role requires a proactive field leader with deep knowledge of construction sequencing, trade coordination, safety enforcement, and quality control. You'll be responsible for driving daily progress, aligning field activities with project milestones, and ensuring seamless integration across all building systems and scopes. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily construction operations, ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans and specifications. Lead and coordinate all trades from site mobilization through final completion "” including structural, architectural, civil, and finish scopes. Interpret and review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals to confirm field compliance and resolve discrepancies. Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and design consultants to address constructability issues and implement changes efficiently. Manage field logistics, including deliveries, manpower, equipment, and material staging to minimize disruptions and maximize productivity. Monitor construction progress against the master schedule; ensure sequencing is optimized and subcontractors stay on track. Conduct regular site inspections to uphold quality standards and enforce safety protocols aligned with NYC DOB and OSHA requirements. Maintain detailed field documentation including daily logs, RFIs, change orders, as-builts, and inspection reports. Coordinate inspections and interface with regulatory agencies (DOB, FDNY, etc.) to ensure all code and permit requirements are satisfied. Assist with closeout activities, punch list resolution, and turnover to ownership. Qualifications5+ years of field supervision experience on NYC-based construction projects, preferably ground-up multi-family or mixed-use. Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building systems integration, and trade sequencing. Ability to read and interpret full construction sets, shop drawings, and project documentation. Familiar with NYC Building Code, DOB inspections, and agency filing processes. Effective leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency with construction platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project (or similar). OSHA 30 certification required; SST card and other site safety credentials preferred.Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus, but not required with strong field experience.
