Maintenance Technician maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.Essential Duties and responsibilities Service and maintain equipment including mixers; mills, conveyors and other related equipment.Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues Perform welding, electrical and mechanical repairsAdjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools utilizing LOTO when requiredConduct routine maintenance and safety checks.Communicate with the production team and plant managementManage preventative maintenance program and complete timely PMsSafely operate forklift and other power equipment Work safely on heavy machinery; ladders; steps and platformsKeep and maintain a clean work areaMaintain stock of critical spare machine partsCoordinates work with contractors on repairs/ installations of projects as neededEstablish and maintain a work order programOther duties as requestedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum 5 years -Previous work experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician.In-depth knowledge of electrical systems maintenance (480v to control power).PLC knowledge a plus.Welding experienceFamiliarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.Excellent troubleshooting skills.Basic computer and writing skills.Good communication skills.Ability to operate heavy equipment.Good time-management skills.Must be computer competent to type correspondence, reports, results, and details pertaining to maintenance program. Excellent planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills.Excellent decision making/problem solving capabilitiesAbility to calculate and apply mathematical concepts.The Elyria, OH site is an ISO 9001 registered production facility. All employees are accountable to understand designated flow charts for applicable tasks and show the ability to follow these flow charts in real life circumstance. Employees must understand how to navigate the company shared drive in-order to locate specific ISO documents. Employees must show the ability to follow applicable ISO Work Instructions for daily tasks.Work Environment Work is performed in a production environment where employees may be exposed to airborne dust. In these circumstances, a respirator may be required. To perform this job, employees must be authorized by a physician to carry out all of the necessary job responsibilities while wearing a NIOSH respirator. The noise level in the facility is moderate. In addition, the air temperature is warm in summer months and colder in the winter months. The facility operates one shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00 pm, with a 30 min unpaid lunch break. Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
