Development Project Manager - Retail

Macdonald & Company has partnered with a leading national real estate owner, operator, and developer recognized for its high-quality retail and mixed-use portfolio across the country's premier markets.The firm is seeking a Development Project Manager - Retail to join its Northern California office. This individual will support the execution of tenant and landlord construction projects across the portfolio, coordinating small-shop and anchor tenant buildouts from lease execution through completion.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the design, permitting, and construction process to deliver tenant spaces in line with lease requirements and timing.Support multiple projects simultaneously, tracking budgets, schedules, and deliverables across assets.Act as a point of contact between tenants, architects, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.Review leases, plans, and construction documents to ensure alignment with design standards and obligations.Assist in managing project budgets, contracts, and landlord work scopes in coordination with internal stakeholders.Help resolve day-to-day design and construction issues to keep projects on track.Prepare project updates and reporting for internal teams.Qualifications3-7 years of experience in project management, construction, or tenant coordination, ideally within retail.Exposure to managing tenant improvement or landlord work projects.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field preferred.Ability to read and interpret leases, architectural drawings, and project budgets.Strong communication and organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project tracking tools preferred.Ability to travel to project sites within the region.
