Apply for our Nurse Manager of Emergency Services role today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Nurse Manager is responsible for the supervision, coordination and evaluation of nursing care provided on the assigned unit.The Nurse Manager coordinates and supervises the activities for the unit, which supports the safe and efficient delivery of care.The Nurse Manager assists the Department Director in the implementation of Performance Improvement activities, hospital policies/procedures and in the financial management of the Unit.Job Duties and Responsibilities:You will participate in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.You will interview and hire nursing staff.You will schedule nursing staff.You will act as the clinical resource for the Nursing Unit.You will serve as an advocate for nursing staff.You will evaluate staff performance.You will discipline, counsel and promote staff development.You will participate in financial management of the assigned unit.You will participate in financial planning and budgeting for the assigned unit.You will plan and conduct staff meetings.You will plan and coordinate unit related in-service.You will manage clinical activities on assigned unit, assuring age specific standards are maintained by staff as well as manager.You will maintain 24-hour accountability for the direction, supervision, coordination and evaluation of activities and services of the assigned unit.You will seek opportunities to improve department or interdepartmental processes.What qualifications you will need:Education:Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field required from an accredited school.Licensure/Certification/Registration:TX RN License or RN Compact State License required.BLS from approved HCA vendor.ACLS from approved HCA vendor.PALS from approved HCA vendor.De-escalation training (CPI) within 1year.TNCC is required within one year.Specialty certification required within 1 year of hire into position.Experience:3-5 years' experience as a staff nurse in the clinical area.Documented clinical knowledge and skills related to the assigned clinical practice area.Previous management experience or demonstrated ability to serve in a leadership position.
