Job Opportunity - Mechanical EngineerLocation: Sunnyvale, CA Duration : Full timeOverview:We are seeking a mechanical engineer contractor to support the design, build, validation, and scaling of structural mounting systems for autonomy compute, networking, and sensor hardware across diverse vehicle platforms. This role works closely with the electrical harness team to ensure fully integrated system solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop mechanical mounting solutions for autonomy hardwareCreate and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawingsSupport first-article builds, prototyping, and fitment validationPerform structural analysis and ensure durability under vehicle conditionsCollaborate with electrical and systems teams for integrated packaging solutionsDrive design iterations from prototype through production readinessSupport validation testing and design verification activitiesRequired Qualifications:5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in automotive or roboticsStrong proficiency in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE (V6)Experience with structural design, mounting systems, and vibration considerationsHands-on experience with prototyping and hardware validationAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience with autonomy, robotics, or sensor integration systemsFamiliarity with manufacturing processes and DFM principlesExperience scaling designs from prototype to production
