No matter the market, no matter the material, no matter the application TA Instruments and Waters will be there creating tomorrow with the tools of today.The Senior New Product Implementation (NPI) Manufacturing Engineer will be a member of the NPI engineering team. The NPI team is responsible for supporting development of products throughout their entire lifecycle, which includes initial concept through final design and initial production. This may include working from engineering design documents, specifications, and/or prototypes to determine equipment, tooling, materials and methods of manufacture and installation to produce quality products within cost and specification guidelines. As needed, they will identify and implement process improvements and cost reductions for components and systems of existing products.ResponsibilitiesProvides imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of technical problems involving conventional utilization of manufacturing engineering techniquesParticipates in development process to insure manufacturability, quality, and cost effectiveness of new products. Evaluates and selects appropriate manufacturing processes and suppliers. Develops work instructions and trains manufacturing staff on assembly and test process, equipment, and softwareDesigns tooling for efficient and repeatable fabrication and assembly processesGenerates reports and deliverables, presents on project status, and communicates project risk with operations and core teamFunctions in a technical leadership role and can effectively coordinate and lead activities and other support personnel to meet project objectivesFollows established policies and procedures, performs professional manufacturing engineering assignments requiring full use and application of standard manufacturing principles, theories, concepts and techniquesAnalyzes engineering drawings and support documentation as it pertains to project requirements and producibilityQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial EngineeringMinimum 7+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing, or process engineeringTechnical Skills:Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principlesExperience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process optimization methodologiesProficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent) for design review and analysisFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems and product lifecycle management (PLM) toolsUnderstanding of materials, tooling, and fabrication processes relevant to the industryAbility to develop and execute test plans, validation protocols, and failure analysisProject & Process Management:Strong project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teamsAbility to define and implement manufacturing strategies for new product introductionExperience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure smooth production ramp-upKnowledge of cost analysis, risk assessment, and quality control in manufacturingSoft Skills:Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilitiesStrong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and supply chain teamsAbility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyLeadership and mentorship experience, guiding junior engineers and techniciansPreferred Qualifications:Industry-specific experience in electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or related fieldsCertifications in Six Sigma, PMP, or Lean ManufacturingExperience with automation, robotics, or IoT integration in manufacturing
