Electrical Designer

Role: Electrical DesignerHours: Fulltime 40 hrs./weekLocation: Onsite fulltime 5 days/week - flexible hoursDuration: Contract to Hire - likely to convert in 3-6 months depending on performanceCompensation: $40/hr to $55/hr.Insight Global is hiring a Electrical CAD Designer for a client in the Houston area (Jersey Village). This role will be responsible for designing various electrical components and schematics from scratch. Including switchgears, VFD cabinets/enclosures, line up designs, switch panels, electrical houses etc. They will join a team of existing designers (6 + manager) and collaborate with the engineering team for schematics/approvals on designs. - Design electrical cabinets, panels, and power systems. - Build wiring diagrams and schematics from scratch. - Design VFD cabinets and MCC style lineups. - Choose components and lay out how everything connects. - Ensure drawings meet electrical codes and standards. - Support engineers, fabrication, and field teams.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEStrong AutoCAD Electrical - creating designs and schematics from scratch - (i.e switchgear)Experience creating electrical engineering schematics (ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and power schematics.)Experience creating Electrical Panel/Electrical enclosure design/Electrical cabinets (VFD cabinets, MCCs, switch panels, and electrical houses.)5+ Years of experience in electrical designNICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEMechanical 3D Design experience (Autodesk Inventor) - ability to take electrical enclosure from start to finishCompensation:$40/hr to $55/hr.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
