Position Title: Operations ManagerHire Type: Full-Time, Permanent HireLocation: Orange, TexasSchedule: OnsitePosition Summary: As the Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for the leadership of operation for a 24/7 facility, including safe and complaint operations, financial performance, and customer satisfactionEssential Functions & Requirements:Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all timesEnsures compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations related to the waste and environmental services industryReviews production schedules to plan facility operations; establishes priorities and sequences to ensure productivity and qualityEstablishes operating goals and resolves operational and maintenance issues to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delaysDevelops and/or revises standard operational and working procedures; ensures Company policies and procedures are adhered toTroubleshoots treatment processes through acquired chemistry and waste treatment knowledge and best practicesEstablishes production metrics and monitors reporting to ensure achievement of goals within the business lineFacilitates strong interactions and collaboration between inter-plant departments and Corporate teamsPrepares and completes audits of various mandatory reporting for all relevant functional departmentsAssists in the development of year operational budget; monitors conformance to the budget and cost of operations to ensure proper pricing and profitabilityDetermines waste disposal options (acceptability and pricing) in partnership with Corporate Approvals; addresses physical and analytical issues around non-conforming waste materials receivedAssists in proposal development, attends pre-bid meetings, assists with cost estimates and program planning and provides technical support for Corporate teamsReviews and manages departmental expenses including P&L, disposal billing, time sheet approvals, etc.Continuously monitors facility operations for adherence and efficiency improvement opportunitiesAssists in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root and contributing causes and coordinates corrective measures and follow up actionsServes as a member of the Plant Emergency Team; leads effective response to emergency situations, including the timely notification of reportable incidents, response actions, and removal of residues and replacement of suppliesParticipates in the hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, promotion and termination processes of team members as neededTakes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organizationEducation:Bachelor's degree in engineering or science related field (required)Experience:5+ years of related plant operations experience in hazardous waste operations and/or chemical plant operations (required)Reasonable experience with and understanding of P&Ls (required)Technical knowledge of equipment and/or processes related to chemistry (required)Experience with industrial waste treatment practices (preferred)Competencies:Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner with a strong emphasis on driving a safety cultureKnowledge of Federal, State and Local laws and regulations pertaining to the environmental services industryExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholdersStrong leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate team membersStrong organizational and problem-solving skills to effectively identify solutionsAbility to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respiratorRegular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
