Majic Productions is a sound, video, and lighting production company that specializes in creative and custom events and systems integration. Our systems integration team designs, installs, and supports technology systems that combine sound, video, lighting, and control components into one cohesive solution. They create customized setups for spaces such as conference rooms, churches, and auditoriums.POSITION SUMMARYThe Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, documentation, and basic commissioning of audio, video, and lighting (AVL) systems. This role ensures that all assigned installation tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with project documentation and company standards. This position requires a self-driven individual who takes ownership of their work, actively seeks opportunities to improve their skills, and contributes to overall project success without waiting for direction. Success in this role comes from a combination of technical execution, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and personal development.REPORTS TOOperations ManagerKEY RESPONSIBILITIESInstall AVL systems including displays, projectors, audio systems, lighting, control components, and related infrastructurePull, terminate, and label cabling according to project documentationLoad and wire equipment racks including cable dressing, lacing, termination, and labelingRead and interpret architectural, electrical, and low-voltage drawings in digital formatUtilize company-provided iPad to access drawings, complete assigned tasks, and track progressMaintain accurate daily redlines to reflect field changes and installation progressVerify system installation quality to confirm functionality and perform basic troubleshooting as neededCommunicate daily progress, completed work, and issues to the Project ManagerAssist with project prep in the warehouse, including pulling equipment, verifying materials, checking functionality, and ensuring readiness for efficient installation on siteMaintain clean, organized, and safe job sitesProperly use and maintain company tools and equipmentSupport shop organization and upkeep as neededPerform other duties as assignedWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKEInstallation work is completed accurately and aligns with project drawings and company standardsDaily tasks are completed without the need for constant direction or follow-upRedlines and digital documentation are consistently accurate and up to dateIssues, discrepancies, or missing information are proactively identified and communicatedMinimal rework or punch list items due to installation errorsJob sites are consistently clean, organized, and professionalActively seeks to improve skills, learn new systems, and take on additional responsibility over timeTakes ownership of work, outcomes, and personal development without waiting for directionEXPERIENECE & QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 2 years of experience in commercial AVL installationExperience with structured cabling, terminations, and equipment installationAbility to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and low-voltage drawingsFamiliarity with audio, video, lighting, and control systemsGeneral understanding of low-voltage and basic electrical conceptsBasic construction knowledgeStrong attention to detail and quality of workSelf-motivated with a high level of personal accountabilityAbility to work independently on assigned tasksClear and consistent communicationComfortable working in a digital-first environment (iPad-based workflows)Industry certifications such as CTS, ETCP, Q-SYS, or similar are considered a strong plusAbility to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined or elevated spacesPhysical stamina to work in construction environmentsValid driver's licenseWillingness and ability to travel for installations (domestic and occasional international)
