Design Release Engineer

Job Summary:We are seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) with 2-3 years of experience, preferably with exposure to Ford's WERS (Worldwide Engineering Release System). The candidate will be responsible for managing component design releases, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring timely and accurate product development within the automotive domain.Key Responsibilities:Manage end-to-end design release process for assigned components/systemsWork with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and suppliersCreate, update, and release engineering documentation using WERSEnsure all parts meet engineering standards, cost, quality, and timing requirementsTrack and resolve engineering issues, changes, and validationsSupport prototype builds, testing, and production launchesCoordinate design changes and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracyEnsure compliance with company and customer standards (preferably Ford)Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field2-3 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer (DRE)Hands-on experience with WERS (Ford system) is strongly preferredUnderstanding of automotive product development lifecycleExperience with CAD tools (Creo, CATIA, NX, etc.) is a plusStrong communication and coordination skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesPreferred Qualifications:Prior experience working on Ford programs or with Ford suppliersKnowledge of APQP, PPAP, and change management processesExperience with PLM systems
