Job Title: PCS-2Duration: 3-year Contract Location: Raleigh, NC 27601 Location: need candidates that are currently local to Raleigh Full time, hybrid, 3 days/week in office, two of those days must be Tuesday and Thursday.The Planet Group is seeking a Project Controls Specialist II that has had experience with project controls and worked with individuals of varying levels in various organizations and suppliers.Project Controls Specialist II Qualifications Considered to have advanced acumen in project controls principles and requires a higher level of cognitive comprehension and applicationDemonstration comes from extensive and diverse work experience, or less experience coupled with higher levels of formal educationProficient use, understanding and application of project controls principles and associated project controls software tools.Strongly Desired QualificationsP6 experienceExcel experienceDesired Qualifications MaximoPowerPlanSAPEcoSys Project Controls Specialist II DescriptionResponsible for initiating and completing routine aspects of project control assignments including complex aspects of estimating, scheduling, change analysis and cost controlSupports 1 to 2 project managers on varying ranked projects in accordance with Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) assignment criteriaResponsible for performing various aspects of project control assignments using prescribed methods and toolsCreate periodic project analysis of gathered data through verification and validation to support project controls metricsResponsible for distributing and archiving project controls analysis as appropriateTrack, trend, and initiate action for changes to the project scope, schedule, and costAnalyzes change requests, gains, approval, and distributes change requests in a manner compliant with internal governance, standards, and proceduresComprehends necessary changes and applies appropriate rules established for change control associated with contract terms and conditionsLeads assigned benchmarking and self-assessment initiatives relevant to project controls functionsSummarizes and communicates improvement opportunities, formulates adoption of Company and Industry best practices, incorporates actions to address gaps in performanceAids Project Managers (PMs) in Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) development, project schedules, cost estimates, track, and trend cash flow reports, change control documentation (scope, cost, or schedule) and/or any reports associated with project controlsTracks and reports project status performs variance, earned value and critical path analyses at a level appropriate for the projectWork with Estimator(s) to create or create project cost estimate to establish effective cost controls managementAssure that project estimate includes all necessary raw materials, resource / labor rates, manufactured materials / equipment as well as current industry data relative to project scopeManage the estimate according to PMCoE Estimating Standard and review cycleResponsible for maintaining effective relationships with customers, supports the resolution of quality issues and completes assignments (proposals, project tasks, reports, etc.) as negotiatedDisplays proficiency in conflict resolution and reaching win-win outcomes among team members
