Youth Programs Camp Counselor (Seasonal, Part-Time)Pay: $18.70 - $23.24/hourYouth Programs within the Department of Recreation and Wellness is seeking energetic seasonal Camp Counselors to help deliver engaging, safe, and inclusive experiences for children of all ages and abilities.Position OverviewCamp Counselors are responsible for creating a positive, supportive camp environment where children feel safe, included, and encouraged to learn and grow. You will lead and participate in sports, games, activities, and field trips while helping manage group dynamics and ensuring camper well-being.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and ensure the emotional and physical safety of campersLead and participate in sports, recreational activities, and camp programmingPlan, organize, and implement engaging activities for youth groupsMonitor camper behavior, address conflicts, and promote positive group interactionFollow all safety procedures and camp guidelinesCollaborate with fellow staff to support camp goals and operationsRespond quickly and appropriately in emergenciesSupport the mission and values of Stanford Recreation and WellnessMinimum QualificationsHigh school graduate or age 16+ preferredExperience working with youth (Grades K-12 preferred)Interest in youth development and camp programmingKnowledge of or interest in sports and group activitiesPrior camp experience is a plusPhysical & Safety RequirementsAbility to actively lead group activities and participate in physical playStrong visual and auditory awareness to monitor camper safetyAbility to respond quickly in emergency situations
